Regular Season Round 14: Piratas - Cimarrones 108-99

There was no surprise in Bogota where 6th ranked Cimarrones (4-8) were defeated by third ranked Piratas (7-5) 108-99 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Venezuelan guard Yohanner Sifontes (192-95) who scored 39 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Venezuelan power forward Jose Ascanio (204-96) chipped in a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds. Piratas' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Venezuelan center Miguel Bolivar (205-92) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and Venezuelan point guard Emiro Hernandez (188-94) added 26 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Four Cimarrones players scored in double figures. Piratas have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Academia. Cimarrones lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Warriors. Piratas is looking forward to face league's leader Titanes in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cimarrones will play against the league's second-placed Academia (#2) and are hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
