Regular Season Round 7: Blackwater Elite - Rain or Shine 82-99

There was a small surprise in Caloocan City where eleventh ranked Rain or Shine (2-5) defeated 8th ranked Blackwater Elite (2-5) 99-82. Rain or Shine players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Kwame Alexander (201-90, college: CS San Bernar.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds. Guard Rey Nambatac (179-94) accounted for 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. Four Rain or Shine players scored in double figures. American forward Marqus Blakely (201-88, college: Vermont) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and naturalized American guard Bobby-Ray Parks (193-93) added 27 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Blackwater Elite in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Rain or Shine moved-up to ninth place, which they share with defeated Blackwater Elite. Rain or Shine's next round opponent will be league's second-placed NLEX RW in Makati City and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
