Regular Season Round 7: Seagulls - BC Nokia 102-83

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Seagulls as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Vilpas) loss. Seagulls smashed 5th ranked BC Nokia in Helsinki 102-83. The game without a history. Seagulls led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Seagulls players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a great evening for Canadian guard Trae Bell-Haynes (188-95, college: Vermont) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 6 rebounds. American point guard Richard Williams (178-87, college: San Diego St., agency: HMS) helped adding 13 points and 8 assists. At the losing side American forward Stacy Davis (199-94, college: Pepperdine, agency: Slash Sports) responded with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Tyler Flack (202-93, college: S.Dakota) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Five Seagulls and four BC Nokia players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Seagulls (6-1) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Vilpas. BC Nokia at the other side dropped to the seventh place with four games lost. They share the position with KTP Basket and Kobrat. BC Nokia will play next round against Pyrinto trying to get back on the winning streak. Seagulls will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
