Regular Season Round 7: Kobrat - Vilpas 90-84

First defeat of league's leader Vilpas (6-1) against tenth ranked Kobrat (3-4) 90-84 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Vilpas. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-84. Kobrat made 27-of-33 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game, while Vilpas only scored eleven points from the stripe. 27 personal fouls committed by Vilpas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jordan Capps (201-95, college: SE Louisiana) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Julien Lewis (193-92, college: Fresno St., agency: Haylett Sports) contributed with 23 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Lewis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American center Jamuni McNeace (208-96, college: Oklahoma) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and guard Henri Kantonen (198-97) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Vilpas. Kobrat moved-up to seventh place, which they share with KTP Basket and BC Nokia. Vilpas at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Seagulls who have the same record. Vilpas will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Kobrat will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Kataja in Joensuu.
