Valur (3-1) survived in overtime against Tindastoll (2-2) by three points 95-92 on Thursday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tindastoll. The hosts trailed by 15 points at the halftime before their 30-13 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 14-11. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Valur made 7 blocks. Tindastoll was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international guard Pavel Ermolinskij (202-87) fired 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Valur moved-up to third place, which they share with Haukar. Tindastoll at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Valur will face league's leader Keflavik on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tindastoll will play against Thor AK (#12) and hope to win that game.
