Regular Season Round 4: Breakers - Hawks 103-72

Date: October 24, 2019
New Zealand Breakers' fans can celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Illawarra Hawks (1-5) 103-72. New Zealand Breakers players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Jamaican guard Sek Henry (193-87, college: Nebraska) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American swingman Scotty Hopson (200-89, college: Tennessee) who added 17 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four New Zealand Breakers players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Aaron Brooks (183-85, college: Oregon) responded with 19 points and his fellow American import guard LaMelo Ball (200-1) scored 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. New Zealand Breakers maintains sixth position with 1-3 record, which they share with United. It was Illawarra Hawks' third loss in a row. They dropped to the bottom place with five games lost. New Zealand Breakers will play against Cairns Taipans (#8) at home in the next round. Illawarra Hawks will play against the league's second-placed Perth Wildcats to get more than just one victory in their record.
