Regular Season Round 4: Phoenix Suns - Denver N. 107-108

Date: October 25, 2019
An interesting game took place in Phoenix where top-ranked Nuggets (2-0) edged by one point their biggest opponent Suns (1-1) 108-107 on Friday night. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Nuggets made 29-of-36 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Nuggets made 12 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian center Nikola Jokic (209-95, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 23 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists and Canadian swingman Jamal Murray (198-97, college: Kentucky) who added 27 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side swingman Kelly Oubre (201-95, college: Kansas) responded with 23 points and 8 rebounds and forward Frank Kaminsky (213-93, college: Wisconsin) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!). Five Nuggets and four Suns players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Nuggets maintains first position with 2-0 record, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Suns keep the second place with one game lost. They share the position with 10 other teams. Nuggets will have a break next day, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Suns will play against the league's leader Clippers in Los Angeles and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
