Raptors (1-1) recorded their first loss in Toronto on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Celtics (1-1) 112-106. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Raptors' 38. Celtics forced 23 Raptors turnovers and had a 21-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Celtics made 8 blocks. 28 personal fouls committed by Raptors helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Forward Jayson Tatum (203-98, college: Duke) fired 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Jaylen Brown (201-96, college: California) chipped in 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Celtics players scored in double figures. Celtics' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cameroonian forward Pascal Siakam (206-94, college: N.Mexico St.) produced 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and point guard Kyle Lowry (183-86, college: Villanova) added 29 points and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Celtics left bottom position moving up to second place, which they share with 10 other teams including defeated Raptors. Celtics is looking forward to face Knicks (#5) in New York City in the next day. Raptors will play at home against the league's second-placed Bulls and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
