Another exciting game was played in New York City between fourth ranked Nets and bottom-ranked Knicks where Nets (1-1) beat Knicks (0-2) on the road 113-109. Nets forced 26 Knicks turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Knicks were plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Australian-American guard Kyrie Irving (190-92, college: Duke) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 5 assists (made all of his eight free throws). Guard Spencer Dinwiddie (198-93, college: Colorado) contributed with 20 points and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Julius Randle (206-94, college: Kentucky) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Allonzo Trier (196-96, college: Arizona) added 22 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) in the effort for Knicks. Four Nets and five Knicks players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Nets left bottom position moving up to second place, which they share with 10 other teams. Knicks at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Nets will have a break next day, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Knicks will play on the road against the league's second-placed Celtics (#2) in Boston and hope to get finally their first victory.
