Regular Season Round 7: Angers - Vanves 73-59

The game had a very big importance for fourth-ranked Etoile Angers as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group A. Etoile Angers defeated 13th ranked Vanves at home 73-59. Etoile Angers dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Vanves' 30. They outrebounded Vanves 42-29 including 32 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for point guard Jeremy Bichard (186-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). American center Kyle Tresnak (209-92, college: Weber St.) helped adding 15 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side point guard Corentin Sauzeau (182-91) responded with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Raphael Desroses (199-80) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. Vanves' coach Sylvain Mousseau rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Etoile Angers (5-0) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Newly promoted Vanves keeps the thirteenth place with six games lost. They share the position with Lourdes. Vanves will play next round against Toulouse trying to get back on the winning streak. Etoile Angers will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Caen on the road.
