Regular Season Round 9: Kagoshima - Toyoda Gosei 111-104

First defeat of league's leader Toyoda Gosei (8-1) against tenth ranked Kagoshima (3-5) 111-104 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Toyoda Gosei. 27 personal fouls committed by Toyoda Gosei helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for forward Chris Washburn (203-93, college: TCU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 19 rebounds. Forward Shelton Boykin (198-92, college: Angelo St.) contributed with 32 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward JD Weatherspoon (198-92, college: Toledo) answered with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and Luke Evans (203-91, college: CBU) added 18 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Toyoda Gosei. Four Kagoshima and five Toyoda Gosei players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kagoshima moved-up to ninth place. Toyoda Gosei at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Saga B. who have the same record. Toyoda Gosei will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Kagoshima will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Toyoda Gosei in Aichi.
