Regular Season Round 17: Fast Break - Cimarrones 71-56

There was no surprise in Bogota where 5th ranked Cimarrones (6-10) were defeated by second ranked Fast Break (8-6) 71-56 on Saturday. American guard Dermaine Crockrell (185-89, college: Bemidji St.) stepped up and scored 25 points for the winners and the former international guard Stalin Ortiz (190-81, college: Valpo) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. Crockrell is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Venezuelan point guard Emiro Hernandez (188-94) responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds and Argentinian forward Jose Materan-Suarez (200-96) scored 13 points. Cimarrones' coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fast Break have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 8-6 record having six points less than leader Titanes. Cimarrones at the other side keep the fifth position with ten games lost. Fast Break will meet at home Academia (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Cimarrones will have a break next round.
