Regular Season Round 6: Cassino - Roma SAzzurra 79-84

There was no surprise when 15th ranked Cassino (1-5) was defeated at home by third ranked Roma S.Azzurra (4-2) 84-79 on Saturday. Roma S.Azzurra made 28-of-34 free shots (82.4 percent) during the game. Cassino was plagued by 36 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was point guard Thomas Reale (178-2) who scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Matteo Visintin (190-4) chipped in 20 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Alessandro Cecchetti (200-91) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and power forward Mauro Liburdi (201-82) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Five Cassino players scored in double figures. Roma S.Azzurra maintains third position in B with 4-2 record behind leader Palestrina, which they share with Vigevano and Lecco. Loser Cassino dropped to the fourteenth place with five games lost. Roma S.Azzurra will face Formia Meta (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cassino will play against Ruvo in Ruvo di Puglia and hope to win that game.
