Regular Season Round 5: Kolossos HH - PAOK 87-66
Date: October 26, 2019
Everything could happen in Rodou at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Kolossos HH and 9th ranked PAOK had identical 1-3 record. This time Kolossos HH used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Thessaloniki 87-66 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Kolossos HH. PAOK was better in fourth quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. American forward Mike Bruesewitz (201-90, college: Wisconsin, agency: Octagon Europe) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). His fellow American import point guard Tyrone Brazelton (184-86, college: WKU, agency: Higher Vision Sports) contributed with 10 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Kolossos HH players scored in double figures. American point guard Adam Smith (185-92, college: Georgia Tech) answered with 22 points and international power forward Evangelos Margaritis (203-82) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for PAOK. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Kolossos HH (2-3) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Panionios. PAOK lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the eleventh position with four games lost. Kolossos HH will face bottom-ranked Aris (#14) in Thessaloniki in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. PAOK will play at home against Ifestos and hope to win that game.
