Regular Season Round 9: Chiba J. - Shimane SM 79-67

There was a minor upset when their close opponent Shimane Magic (2-7) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Chiba J. (4-5) 79-67 on Saturday. The game was also dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Nick Mayo (206, college: EKU, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Robert Carter (206-94, college: Maryland) who recorded 22 points and 9 rebounds and center Brian Qvale (208-88, college: Montana) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Shimane Magic's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Chiba J. maintains sixth place with 4-5 record. Newly promoted Shimane Magic dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. Chiba J. will face again Shimane Magic (#6) at home in the next round.
