Regular Season Round 15: Soles - Libertadores 89-83

Date: October 26, 2019
There was no surprise in Mexicali where 8th ranked Libertadores (5-9) were defeated by first ranked Soles (9-3) 89-83 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Soles made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was international guard Luke Martinez (193-90, college: Wyoming, agency: Pro Sports) who scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. American forward John Flowers (200-89, college: WVU, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 11 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Puerto Rican forward Luis Hernandez (206-88) who recorded 24 points and 9 rebounds and Dominican-Puerto Rican swingman Jonathan Rodriguez (196-87, college: Campbell) added 21 points respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Soles have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 9-3 record. Loser Libertadores keep the eighth position with nine games lost. Soles will face Santos (#7) in San Luis Potosi in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Libertadores will play at home against the league's second-placed Aaguacateros and hope to win that game.
