Round 4 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Ardoi (3-1). They were defeated by eighth ranked Gran Canaria (3-1) 69-57 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ardoi. It was a key game for the second position in Group B. They outrebounded Ardoi 48-29 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Sparkle Taylor (178-95, college: UTEP) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 5 rebounds and Mali power forward Sika Kone (190-2) who added 12 points and 17 rebounds during the contest. Gran Canaria's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side the former international forward Amaya Gastaminza (189-91, college: Oregon St.) responded with 26 points and Argentinian forward Maria Lineira (182-83) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. Gran Canaria moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Ardoi. Ardoi will play next round against Granada trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Gran Canaria will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Picken Claret in Valencia.
