Regular Season Round 3: Sibenik - FSV Rijeka 68-66

A very close game took place in Sibenik (derby !!!) between Sibenik and FSV Rijeka. Sibenik (3-0) got a very close home victory over FSV Rijeka (1-2). Sibenik managed to escape with a 2-point win 68-66 on Saturday evening. Sibenik made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Strangely FSV Rijeka outrebounded Sibenik 49-35 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for guard Katarina Puljic (171-92) who led her team to a victory scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals. Point guard Iva Cigic (174-94) helped adding 7 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was American forward Alexis Carter (188-95, college: Tuskegee) with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 29 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized Bosnian point guard Anja Perko (170-0) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. FSV Rijeka's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sibenik will meet at home Ragusa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. FSV Rijeka will play against ZKK Medvescak (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
