Everything could happen in Montenegrano at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Pompea MNV and 11th ranked Poderosa MNT had identical 1-2 record. But Poderosa MNT was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Mirandola 83-75 on Sunday night. Quite impressive performance for swingman Riccardo Visconti (197-98) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. American center Kenny Lawson (207-88, college: Creighton) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Pompea MNV players scored in double figures. Pompea MNV's coach Alessandro Finelli used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Aaron Thomas (196-91, college: FSU) replied with 16 points and 7 rebounds and Martino Mastellari (193-96, agency: SPORTlab Agency) added 14 points in the effort for Poderosa MNT. Pompea MNV (2-2) moved-up to sixth place in A2. Loser Poderosa MNT dropped to the thirteenth position with three games lost. Pompea MNV will face A.Costa IM (#14) in Imola in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Poderosa MNT will play on the road against JuveCaserta and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
