Regular Season Round 13: Shinshu BW - Gunma 74-49

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Shinshu BW as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Shinshu BW smashed leader Gunma in Nagano 74-49. Shinshu BW players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) stepped up and scored 26 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and guard Kazuya Mitsui (190-94) chipped in 9 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side Hungarian-American Rosco Allen (208-93, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with 22 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Masashi Obuchi (182-83) scored 8 points and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shinshu BW (10-1) have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Gunma lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the second place with four games lost. Gunma will play next round against Tokyo Z trying to get back on the winning streak. Shinshu BW will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked FE Nagoya on the road.
