The game in Pasig City was also quite interesting. 6th ranked Columbian Dyip (4-5) played at the court of seventh ranked Hotshots (4-4). Hotshots defeated Columbian Dyip 118-103 on Sunday. Hotshots dominated down low during the game scoring 100 of its points in the paint compared to Columbian Dyip's 54. They outrebounded Columbian Dyip 50-34 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Hotshots looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Columbian Dyip's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Hotshots made 7 blocks. The winners were led by American-North Macedonian Romeo Travis (198-84, college: Akron) who scored that evening 28 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Jiovani Jalalon (175-92) supported him with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Even a double-double of 26 points and 14 rebounds by American Khapri Alston (198-94, college: Midwestern St., agency: Agency) did not help to save the game for Columbian Dyip. Guard Jaymar Perez (188-93) added 28 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Five Hotshots and four Columbian Dyip players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hotshots moved-up to sixth place. Columbian Dyip at the other side dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Hotshots will meet Phoenix (#10) in the next round. Columbian Dyip will have a break next round.
