No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Benedetto CE (5-1) edged on the road bottom-ranked Ancona (0-6) 85-84 on Sunday. Ancona was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was the former international center Emanuele Rossi (206-82) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Ennio Leonzio (191-94) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Senegalese guard Ousmane Gueye (192-82) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and center Francesco Quaglia (207-88) added 19 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Four Ancona players scored in double figures. Benedetto CE moved-up to third place in B, which they share with Monfalcone and Bernareggio. Loser Ancona still closes the standings with six games lost. Benedetto CE will face Cesena (#9) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Ancona will play against Porto S.Elpidio (#15) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
