Regular Season Round 10: Gifu Swoops - Iwate Big Bulls 67-76

Very expected game when 12th ranked Gifu Swoops (1-8) were defeated at home by fourth ranked Iwate Big Bulls (7-3) 76-67. Canadian forward Erik Nissen (206-95, college: Acadia) notched a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and Masaya Ueda (177-93) supported him with 12 points and 5 assists. Four Iwate Big Bulls players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 23 points and 13 rebounds by American forward AJ John (203-96, college: UC Davis) did not help to save the game for Gifu Swoops. Point guard Kentaro Yoshida (175-95) added 19 points for lost side. Gifu Swoops' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Iwate Big Bulls have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Aisin AW. Gifu Swoops lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Iwate Big Bulls will play against Kagoshima (#9) in Renova in the next round where they are favorite. Gifu Swoops will play on the road against Shizuoka to get more than just one victory in their record.
