The game in Fukuoka was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Fukushima (5-6) played at the court of 5th ranked Fukuoka R. (3-10). Fukushima managed to secure a 9-point victory 95-86 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Fukuoka R.. Fukushima forced 20 Fukuoka R. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Fukuoka R. was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American forward Shaheed Davis (206-94, college: UCF) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. South African center Tshilidzi Nephawe (208-89, college: N.Mexico St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. American power forward Kevinn Pinkney (207-83, college: Nevada, agency: SDJ Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and the other American import swingman Sean Marshall (198-85, college: Boston Coll., agency: Inception Sports) added 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Fukuoka R.Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Fukushima moved-up to third place. Loser Fukuoka R. keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. Fukushima will face Kumamoto V. (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Fukuoka R. will play against Aomori W. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
