Important game to mention about took place in Beer Sheva. Eighth ranked Beer Sheva (2-2) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 7th ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (1-3) 82-81 on Sunday evening. They outrebounded Ironi Nes-Ziona 49-34 including 19 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by American Spencer Weisz (193-95, college: Princeton) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 15 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import center Steve Zack (210-92, college: La Salle) supported him with 12 points and 17 rebounds. Even a double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds by American center Jeff Withey (213-90, college: Kansas) did not help to save the game for Ironi Nes-Ziona. The former international Raviv Limonad (191-84) added 16 points and 6 assists for lost side. Five Beer Sheva and four Ironi Nes-Ziona players scored in double figures. Beer Sheva moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Holon and Nahariya. Ironi Nes-Ziona at the other side dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. They share it with Eilat. Beer Sheva will play against higher ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ironi Nes-Ziona will play against Maccabi Haifa (#12) to get more than just one victory in their record.
