Regular Season Round 6: Pau-Lacq-Orthez - Levallois 110-114

Very expected game when 10th ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (2-4) lost at home to top-ranked Levallois (6-0) 114-110 on Sunday. Levallois dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Pau-Lacq-Orthez's 50. Levallois forced 19 Pau-Lacq-Orthez turnovers. American point guard Briante Weber (188-92, college: VCU) notched 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Zimbabwean power forward Vitalis Chikoko (208-91) supported him with 18 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Five Levallois players scored in double figures. Levallois' coach Frederic Fauthoux used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 31 points and 6 rebounds by Dutch center Nicolas de-Jong (210-88) did not help to save the game for Pau-Lacq-Orthez. American point guard Ronald Moore (183-88, college: Siena) added 19 points and 6 assists. Levallois have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 6-0 record behind leader ASVEL. Loser Pau-Lacq-Orthez keeps the tenth place with four games lost. They share the position with 5 other teams. Levallois will meet at home Chorale de Roanne (#17) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will play against SIG Strasbourg (#18) and hope to secure a win.
