Regular Season Round 8: Atlanta H. - Miami Heat 97-112

Date: October 29, 2019
The most crucial game of the last day was another loss of Hawks (2-2) in Atlanta. Hosts were defeated by Heat (3-1) 112-97. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Heat shot 33 for 45 from the free-throw line, while Hawks only scored sixteen points from the stripe. Heat forced 20 Hawks turnovers and outrebounded them 49-33 including a 36-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Hawks were plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by guard Tyler Herro (196-0, college: Kentucky) who scored that evening 29 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Bam Adebayo (208-97, college: Kentucky) supported him with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Five Heat players scored in double figures. Even 30 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by U.S. Virgin Islands-American John Collins (208-97, college: Wake Forest) did not help to save the game for Hawks. Forward Jabari Parker (203-95, college: Duke) added 12 points for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Heat keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 6 other teams. Hawks at the other side dropped to the second place with two games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams.
