No shocking result in a game when third ranked Taby Basket (6-1) beat at home 7th ranked Alvik Basket (1-4) 97-92 on Tuesday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Alvik Basket was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Taby Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Swingman Erik Andersson (197-87) notched 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and center Marcus Friman (203-95) supported him with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Even 20 points and 7 rebounds by guard Papy N'diaye (190-94) did not help to save the game for Alvik Basket. Forward Oscar Jernberg (190-94) added 14 points and 6 rebounds. Five Taby Basket and four Alvik Basket players scored in double figures. Alvik Basket's coach Fred Drains tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Taby Basket have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Alvik Basket lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with Team4Q. Taby Basket will meet KFUM Fryshuset (#4) in the next round. Alvik Basket will play against AIK Basket and hope to win that game.
