Regular Season Round 3: Spirou - SBS Ostrava 79-59

Very important is a road loss of Czech SBS Ostrava (1-2) against Belgian Spirou Ladies Charleroi (1-1) on Wednesday night. Visiting SBS Ostrava was crushed by Spirou Ladies Charleroi in Charleroi 79-59. Spirou Ladies Charleroi players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a good game for center Sofie Hendrickx (186-86, agency: Basket Promotion Agency) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. American-Czech center Klara Brichacova (198-95, college: SMU) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Spirou Ladies Charleroi players scored in double figures. British guard Eilidh Simpson (170-92, college: St.Francis, NY) answered with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and American forward Tiffany Jones (190-91, college: Seton Hall) added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for SBS Ostrava. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Spirou Ladies Charleroi will play against Zabiny Brno on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. SBS Ostrava will play against BC Pharmaserv Marburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
