Regular Season Round 5: Roseto Sharks - San Severo 67-78

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Roseto Sharks (2-3) were defeated at home by fourth ranked San Severo (4-1) 78-67 on Wednesday. San Severo forced 21 Roseto Sharks turnovers. Strangely Roseto Sharks outrebounded San Severo 48-35 including 20 on the offensive glass. Naturalized American power forward Cristopher Mortellaro (207-82, college: Drury) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and American guard Tre Demps (188-93, college: Northwestern, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) chipped in 15 points. Four San Severo players scored in double figures. Serbian Lazar Nikolic (202-99, college: Colorado, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 22 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Khadeem Lattin (206-95, college: Oklahoma) scored 8 points and 13 rebounds. Roseto Sharks' coach Germano D'Arcangeli tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. San Severo moved-up to second place in A2. Loser Roseto Sharks dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. San Severo will face league's leader Tezenis VER in Verona in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Roseto Sharks will play at home against Pompea MNV (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
