Date: October 30, 2019
Important game to mention about took place in Aguascalientes. Second ranked Capitanes (11-4) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 4th ranked Panteras (9-7) 90-89 on Wednesday evening. Capitanes made 22-of-25 charity shots (88.0 percent) during the game. Capitanes outrebounded Panteras 45-34 including 32 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Puerto Rican forward Emmanuel Andujar (198-93, college: Manhattan) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 17 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and the former international point guard Orlando Mendez-Valdez (175-86, college: WKU, agency: Pro Sports) who added 14 points and 7 assists during the contest. Five Capitanes players scored in double figures. At the losing side American-Puerto Rican forward Derek Reese (201-93, college: Tennessee) responded with 20 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Gary Ricks (185-91, college: Drake) scored 18 points. Panteras' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Capitanes keep a position of league leader. Panteras at the other side keep the fourth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Astros. Capitanes will play against Libertadores (#8) in Queretaro in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Panteras will play on the road against Abejas (#6) in Guanajuato and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
