Regular Season Round 11: LA Lakers - Dallas M. 119-110

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Lakers as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Lakers defeated their close opponent Mavericks in Los Angeles 119-110. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Lakers dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Mavericks' 52 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Lakers forced 22 Mavericks turnovers. Strangely Mavericks outrebounded Lakers 61-41 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Lakers made 7 blocks. LeBron James (203-84) orchestrated the victory with a triple-double by scoring 39 points (!!!), 12 rebounds, 16 assists and 4 steals. Center Anthony Davis (208-93, college: Kentucky) contributed with 31 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Slovenian guard Luka Doncic (201-99) answered with a triple-double by scoring 31 points, 13 rebounds and 15 assists and Latvian power forward Kristaps Porzingis (221-95) added 16 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Mavericks. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lakers have a solid series of four victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with 4 other teams. Mavericks at the other side still keep top place with two games lost. They share the position with 5 other teams.
