Regular Season Round 7: Solares - Mondragon 74-73

The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Solares as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group A-A. Solares edged 4th placed Mondragon at home 74-73. Strangely Mondragon outrebounded Solares 45-33 including 35 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Carlos Sepulveda (178-96) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 6 rebounds. Naturalized Senegalese center Gana Ndiaye (208-88) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Martin Buesa (204-88) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds and Simion Mancebo (200-94) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Mondragon. Mondragon's coach Inaki Ogara rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Solares (6-0) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Mondragon at the other side keeps the fourth place with one game lost. Mondragon will play next round against Tabirako trying to get back on the winning streak. Solares will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
