There was no surprise in Lapua where 10th ranked Kobrat (3-6) was crushed by second ranked Seagulls (7-2) 96-70 on Friday. The guests trailed by 11 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 26 points. Seagulls looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Elijah Stewart (196-95, college: USC) who scored 22 points. Canadian guard Trae Bell-Haynes (188-95, college: Vermont) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. Four Seagulls players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Reggie Keely (204-91, college: Ohio, agency: Mansfield and Associates) who recorded 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Brandon Boggs (198-92, college: W.Carolina, agency: Mansfield and Associates) added 22 points respectively. Seagulls maintains second place with 7-2 record behind leader Vilpas. Loser Kobrat keeps the tenth position with six games lost. Seagulls will face Pyrinto (#5) in Tampere in the next round. Kobrat will play at home against Lahti (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
