Regular Season Round 7: Godella - Valencia 2 61-78

Everything went according to plan when first ranked Valencia-2 (4-1) won against on the road 5th ranked Godella (2-3) 78-61 on Saturday. Godella was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Slovakian center Tomas Pavelka (217-0) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Power forward Alejandro Rivas (203-98) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Pablo Bono (185-98) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 17 rebounds and Borja Garcia (190-96) added 11 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Valencia-2. They maintain first place in Group E-A with 4-1 record, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Godella keeps the fifth position with three games lost. Valencia-2 will face Picken Claret (#6) in Leioa in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Godella will play on the road against Tabernes in Tabernes Blanques and hope to win that game.
