Regular Season Round 8: Orchies - La Charite 95-102

Very significant was La Charite's (#6) 102-95 road victory against 7th ranked Orchesien BC in Group B. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Orchesien BC. La Charite shot 60.4 percent from the field and made 26-of-33 charity shots (78.8 percent) during the game, while Orchesien BC only scored ten points from the stripe. La Charite shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. Orchesien BC was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American-British point guard Akeem Williams (178-91, college: UMass Lowell, agency: HMS) who scored that evening 41 points (!!!), 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and American forward Juwan Howard-Jr (200-92, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Green Sports Management) supported him with 30 points and 9 rebounds. Even a double-double of 10 points, 8 rebounds and 13 assists by point guard Arnaud Kerckhof (193-84) did not help to save the game for Orchesien BC. Guard Simon Cretaux (190-89) added 23 points and 4 assists for the hosts. Four La Charite and five Orchesien BC players scored in double figures. La Charite (5-3) moved-up to fourth place in Group B, which they share with Saint Vallier and Avignon/Pontet. Orchesien BC at the other side keeps the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with Andrezieux. La Charite will play against Feurs EF (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Orchesien BC will play against the league's second-placed Rueil (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
