Regular Season Round 8: Grodno-93 - Brest 121-55

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Grodno-93 as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Grodno-93 smashed 6th ranked Brest at home 121-55. The game without a history. Grodno-93 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Brest's 36. Grodno-93 forced 22 Brest turnovers and outrebounded them 48-29 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Brest's players. Power forward Kiryl Vinakurau (207-99) orchestrated the victory by scoring 8 points and 16 rebounds. Point guard Uladzislau Shvakel (180-0) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Grodno-93 players scored in double figures. Grodno-93's coach Dzmitry Kuzmin felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Anton Shchurko (188-97) replied with 20 points and center Dmitriy Shved (196-98) added 8 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Brest. Grodno-93 (5-0) have an impressive five-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Brest at the other side dropped to the seventh place with four games lost. They share the position with RCOP Tsmoki. Brest will play next round against strong COR-Borisfen trying to get back on the winning streak. Grodno-93 will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Tsmoki II in Minsk.
