Regular Season Round 6: Milano - Mantova 83-58

There was a minor upset when 12th ranked Mantova (1-5) was crushed on the road by fifteenth ranked Milano (1-5) 83-58 on Saturday. Milano shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Mantova's players. The best player for the winners was swingman Susanna Toffali (170-98) who scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Stefania Guarneri (182-95) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. Four Milano players scored in double figures. Milano's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Slovenian center Katja Kotnik (190-90, college: Eckerd) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds and Ilaria Bernardoni added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Milano left bottom position moving up to twelfth place in A2. Milano will have a break next round. Mantova will play at home against Ponzano (#10) and hope to win that game.
