Everything went according to plan in Morón de la Frontera where fourth ranked Moron (5-3) beat 11th ranked Ponferrada CDP (2-6) 96-78 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Guillermo Corrales (180-95) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and point guard Jose-Antonio Marco (179-89) who added 16 points and 6 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. American forward Kerwin Smith (208, college: ORU) responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Sean McDonnell (203, college: Westmont) scored 15 points. Four Ponferrada CDP players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Moron maintains fourth position in Silver with 5-3 record. Newly promoted Ponferrada CDP keeps the eleventh place with six games lost. Moron will face Navarra (#7) in Pamplona in the next round. Ponferrada CDP will play at home against Zamorano (#6) and hope to win that game.
