Regular Season Round 7: Polonia Bytom - Jaroslaw 82-71

There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked Polonia Bytom (1-5) won against at home 9th ranked Jaroslaw (2-5) 82-71 on Saturday. They outrebounded Jaroslaw 45-30 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Polonia Bytom shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. It was a great evening for Emil Podkowinski (194-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Rafal Serwanski (188-0) helped adding 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side guard Patryk Buszta (180-91) responded with 16 points and Artur Mikolajko (197-79) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Polonia Bytom left bottom position moving up to eleventh place in Group C. Newly promoted Jaroslaw keeps the ninth position with five games lost. Polonia Bytom will face higher ranked Pogon RS (#8) in Ruda Slaska in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
