Undefeated leader Kouvottaret delivered the seventh consecutive victory. This time they beat 9th ranked ViVe (1-5) 82-64 in Kouvola. It looked good early as ViVe took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Kouvottaret had a 21-16 second period charge getting the lead and ViVe was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 64-82. They outrebounded ViVe 44-31 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Ugandan power forward Claire Lamunu (185-93, college: Vanguard) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. American swingman Camille Zimmerman (184-95, college: Columbia) contributed with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Kouvottaret's coach Mika Hartonen allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Jamee Swan (188-94, college: Colorado) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import swingman Amy Griffin (183-96, college: La Salle) added 19 points in the effort for ViVe. Kouvottaret (7-0) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 7 victories in a row. ViVe at the other side keeps the ninth position with five games lost. Kouvottaret will play against Torpan Pojat (#4) in Helsinki in the next round. ViVe will play at home against Catz Lappeenranta (#5) to get more than just one victory in their record.
