Regular Season Round 17: Capitanes - Libertadores 83-73

LNBP top team - Capitanes (12-4) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat eighth ranked Libertadores (6-11) in Mexico 83-73. Capitanes dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Libertadores' 32. Capitanes forced 19 Libertadores turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Panamanian forward Ernesto Oglivie (203-89) nailed 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and the former international Hector Hernandez (205-85, college: Fresno St., agency: BeoBasket) accounted for 11 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Capitanes' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Dominican-Puerto Rican swingman Jonathan Rodriguez (196-87, college: Campbell) came up with 26 points and 4 assists and American-Dominican forward Justin Satchell (203, college: St.Leo) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Libertadores in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Capitanes have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 12-4 record. Libertadores at the other side keep the eighth position with 11 games lost. Capitanes will again play against Libertadores (#8) in Queretaro in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Libertadores will have a break next round.
