Regular Season Round 6: Ponzano - Marghera 91-73

Rather expected game in Veneto where bottom-ranked Marghera (0-5) was defeated by eleventh ranked Ponzano (2-3) 91-73 on Saturday. Ponzano forced 25 Marghera turnovers. The best player for the winners was Croatian Ruzica Dzankic (179-94) who scored 23 points. Forward Giulia Brotto (182-91) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Ponzano players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Argentinian Gisel Villarruel (173-95) who recorded 24 points and 5 rebounds and Beatrice Tasca added 16 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ponzano moved-up to tenth place in A2. Loser Marghera still closes the standings with five games lost. Ponzano will face Mantova (#14) on the road in the next round. Marghera will play against Sarcedo and hopes to get finally their first victory.
