Very important is a home loss of third ranked USE Basket (4-2) against ninth ranked Palermo GB (3-3) on Saturday night. Host USE Basket was defeated by Palermo GB in a tough game in Empoli 67-74. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Giuseppe Caronna (208-94) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Tommaso Minoli (188-94) accounted for 15 points for the winning side. Guard Lorenzo Raffaelli (190-99, agency: SPORTlab Agency) came up with 24 points and power forward Daniele Sesoldi (195-92) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for USE Basket in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. USE Basket's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Palermo GB moved-up to eighth place in B. USE Basket at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Palermo GB will play against higher ranked Alba (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. USE Basket will play against the league's second-placed Omegna having rather not much hope for a victory.
