Regular Season Round 11: Iwate Big Bulls - Kagoshima 82-74

Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Kagoshima (3-7) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Iwate Big Bulls (8-3) 82-74 on Saturday. Iwate Big Bulls looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for Canadian forward Erik Nissen (206-95, college: Acadia) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds. Masaya Ueda (177-93) helped adding 26 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). American forward Chris Washburn (203-93, college: TCU) responded with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Shelton Boykin (198-92, college: Angelo St.) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Iwate Big Bulls have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Aisin AW and Saga B. Loser Kagoshima keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. Iwate Big Bulls will again meet at home Kagoshima (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kagoshima will have a break next round.
