Regular Season Round 4: Sykki - Westside 81-74

Sykki can celebrate their first win this season after two consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Westside (0-4) 81-74 on Saturday. Westside trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 20-15 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 74-81 at the end of the game. Sykki looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Ville Tolonen (192-3) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals and forward Cristian Ahokas (202-1) who added 23 points during the contest. At the losing side forward Teo Niinimaki (198-1) responded with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Tatu Lehtisyrja (199-2) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sykki (1-2) left bottom position moving up to seventh place. It was Westside's fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. Sykki will meet Lahti (#8) on the road in the next round. Westside will play against Kataja and hopes to get finally their first victory.
