Regular Season Round 7: Roma SAzzurra - Formia Meta 99-89

Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Formia Meta (2-5) was defeated on the road by third ranked Roma S.Azzurra (5-2) 99-89 on Saturday. Roma S.Azzurra shot 63.3 percent from the field. Roma S.Azzurra had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Roma S.Azzurra especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. It was a great evening for Marco Rupil (, agency: Agency) who led his team to a victory scoring 31 points and 7 assists. Montenegrin Lazar Kekovic (205-99) helped adding 25 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side Andrea Longobardi (199-94) responded with 36 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Mirko Gentili (190-93) scored 21 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Roma S.Azzurra maintains third place in B with 5-2 record behind leader Palestrina, which they share with Lecco. Newly promoted Formia Meta dropped to the twelfth position with five games lost. Roma S.Azzurra will face Matera (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Formia Meta will play against Cassino (#15) and hope to win that game.
