Regular Season Round 11: Saga B. - Toyoda Gosei 76-91

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Saga. First ranked Toyoda Gosei faced second-ranked Saga B.. Guests from Aichi (10-1) defeated host Saga B. (8-3) 91-76. They outrebounded Saga B. 40-26 including 32 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Toyoda Gosei especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 64.3 percentage. The best player for the winners was American forward JD Weatherspoon (198-92, college: Toledo) who scored 24 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Eiji Sumihiro (171-89) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists. American Trey Gilder (206-85, college: Northwestern St.) produced 22 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import power forward Gary Hamilton (208-84, college: Miami, FL, agency: Inception Sports) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Five Toyoda Gosei and four Saga B. players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toyoda Gosei maintains first place with 10-1 record. Newly promoted Saga B. keeps the second position with three games lost. They share it with Iwate Big Bulls and Aisin AW. Toyoda Gosei will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Saga B. will play again at home against the league's leader Toyoda Gosei and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
