Very predictable result when fourth ranked Monfalcone (6-1) defeated at home 11th ranked Varese Robur (2-5) 92-78 on Saturday. Monfalcone dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Varese Robur's 40. It was a great evening for Giulio Casagrande (197-93, agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points. Matteo Schina (180-1, agency: Players Group) helped adding 12 points and 5 assists. Monfalcone's coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side point guard Lorenzo Gergati (188-84) responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds and the former international forward Marco Allegretti (204-81) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Five Monfalcone and four Varese Robur players scored in double figures. They have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Monfalcone moved-up to third place in B, which they share with Bernareggio. Loser Varese Robur dropped to the twelfth position with five games lost. Monfalcone will face Omnia Basket (#11) in Pavia in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Varese Robur will play at home against Olginate and hope to win that game.
