Regular Season Round 8: Lourdes - Angers 88-100

NM1 top team - Etoile Angers (7-0) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat thirteenth ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (1-7) 100-88. Etoile Angers dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Lourdes-Tarbes' 40. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of American-Mali forward Ibrahim Djambo (208-92, college: Hofstra) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 6 rebounds and forward Franck Seguela (198-97) who added 16 points during the contest. Guard Frederic Loubaki (189-97, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 17 points and 5 assists and guard Romain Hillotte (195-91) scored 19 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Lourdes-Tarbes' coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Etoile Angers have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group A with 7-0 record. Lourdes-Tarbes lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth place with seven games lost. Etoile Angers will face La Rochelle (#12) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Lourdes-Tarbes will play against JSA Bordeaux and hope to win that game.
